The north zone of the port of Mahon, in danger

The *GOB asks that the *amarraments of the *vorera north of the port of Mahon are *gestionats for the collective of *vesins and that it avoid any increase of capacity until it do not count with the Insular Plan of the Coast.

Authority *Portuària has initiated the process of privatization of the *amarraments of the *vorera north of the port of Mahon. The bases of the *concessió foresee an important increase of the prices, as well as an increase in the number of moorings. The *GOB believes that this performance will cause a *desplaçament of modest crafts to zones no controlled and that it is very debatable that the increase of *amarraments was positive for the tourism.

It would have to learn of the errors committed in the past. When it did the port of *hivernada of the *Colàrsega, the increase of prices caused the abandonment of the zone of all the *barquetes of small dimension of residents *menorquins, that went to stop to spaces without *regulació, such as the beach *des Degree, that suffers since then an inadmissible congestion. The *GOB thinks that it will cause the same effect on big part of the crafts that now there is to Other Band.

Likewise, the increase of *amarraments due will derive in needs of zones of parking, of collection of waste and of other derivative dynamics, that have not foreseen in the project neither have fit to the zone of land.

The entity wants to express his worry for the different forecasts of increase of moorings that are posing to different points of the island, without that anybody count with a vision of conjoint. Follow increasing them means to go *massificant the nautical offer, which thing perhaps was good for some companies, but is not it for the product *turístic of *Menorca in his group. The public administrations that take part in these processes have to apply the defence of the general interests over of the private. It follows *evidenciant- the need of an Insular Plan of the Coast.

The *GOB trusts how Authority *Portuària reconsider the current process, before causing a new controversy like the generated with the delivery to a private company of all the zone that was *gestionada for the Maritime Club.
